Emotional Freedom Technique
Tapping
Tapping is a clinically effective technique that works with acupuncture points which we work together to tap on, whilst we express thoughts that are surfacing, in short 'rounds'. Tapping helps to 'turn off' some of the conscious mind and gives the body a chance to access some unconscious parts of our brain. We can then find release from thoughts, emotions or behaviours that trouble us. It is a very therapeutic process that is effective with a range of issues and tends to work very quickly. Three to six sessions is often enough.

Lots of people find that this technique works and is especially good for phobias and managing the symptoms of post traumatic stress and other issues linked to anxiety such as OCD. It is often helpful as a starting point to counselling so that you are not overwhelmed telling your story or thinking about your suffering.
There is now plenty of research supporting the effectiveness of EFT e.g. from the American Psychological Association. The findings found that clinical trials are "consistently demonstrated strong effect sizes and other positive statistical results that far exceed chance after relatively few treatment sessions". I am able to work with children and young people, with written parental consent, since I am a teacher graduate and have a post graduate teaching qualifications with over 30 years experience working with children and young people. I also work with adults. I can work in your child's local school (within Malvern or further by negotiation) with their permission (cost is £30 per 30 minute session for children) or you can come to me in Malvern.
